Pastor Bob & Sandy Newman Bio |
| Interim Pastors Bob & Sandy Newman Pastor Newman and his wife, Sandy, are presently serving as Interim Pastors while the Pulpit Committee is reviewing possible candidates for our new permanent Pastor. Pastor Newman has spent his entire life serving in the Assemblies of God both as a Pastor and as an Evangelist. He has a wide experience as Senior Pastor and has served numerous churches across the South. He has spent over 15 years in building programs that resulted from church growth in the congregations where he served. According to Pastor Newman, the strength of the church is in the local congregation, and it has always been his purpose to involve as many people in the various ministries of the church as possible. He feels that nothing is more important than the presence of the Holy Spirit in all the services and that this is attained through an expectant attitude generated through Intercessory Prayer. He encourages what he terms “Blended Worship”, a healthy blending of the new and old, as the best way to a balanced worship for the church. It is important to stay current on what God is doing and at the same time remembering the traditions that are always important to the life of the church. He has a confidence that there is nothing too difficult for God to get a church through and places strong emphasis on looking toward the future and not the past. Sandy teaches music at East Haines City Elementary and has always been involved in various aspects of Worship Ministry in the local church. She has a degree in music and has been involved in arranging and directing choirs and worship teams. She has written over a hundred songs that she feels were given to her by the Holy Spirit. It is her desire to develop Music Ministry through developing the giftedness of individuals that God gives to the church. She has a strong background in Intercessory Prayer and feels that to minister adequately there needs to be time spent in the presence of God. |
